About Me:

Apple Orchard 2019

Welcome, welcome, welcome to my personal blog! My name is Katie Webb and I am an Advertising and Public Relations major at Grand Valley State University. Eat, Sleep, Rave, Repeat is a blog that dedicates itself to honest reviews so that it’s readers can be informed on key moments of the festival and become better connected within the rave community. In this blog you will find that I am eccentric, compassionate, independent, outgoing, and active. I travel across the country following my favorite genre of music: EDM (Electronic Dance Music). I hope that one day I can find a job within the music festival community. Music festivals have helped define me as a person because it showed me how happy I am capable of being. This blog will show you some of my favorite moments as well as give you insight on what festivals are a must see and what one you mind as well pass. This is all from my own personal experience and I am sharing in hope to connect with my readers and the EDM community. My goals, as always, is to spread PLUR! In all of our lives we could use a little more peace, love, unity, and respect. I hope you enjoy my content.

Love your favorite headbanger,

Katie

Lost Lands 2019

Lucii Saturday Morning Set

A weekend full of headbanging to say the least. This festival takes place every year in Thornville, Ohio in the third weekend of September. The weekend started off with a 3 hour and 43 minute drive from Ann Arbor, Michigan my hometown. We listened to all of our favorite musicians that were headlining this festival like Excision, Illenium, Dion Timmer, Lucii, Sudden Death, and much more. As we arrived close to the festival my friend, Jake, and I got lost with all the directed signage there was TOO much and we didn’t know where to turn to get to our General Admission Car Camping spot. This was the most annoying part about this festival, to me. As we arrived we wanted to get in smoothly, but it was quite the opposite. After a good 45 minutes of circling Thornville we found our entrance and got our camping spot. The spot was exactly big enough to fit our car and tent. We set up our tent and were on our way to the first night of the festival; Friday. With two stages playing simultaneously we had to pick and choose which sets we wanted to see between my friend and I. Sets we chose were: Subtronics, Borgore, BTSM, Zeds Dead, and Excision. Lets just say my first time seeing Excision blew my mind. The visuals, sound, and fireworks were everything I wanted and more. For everyone reading this article who loves EDM music I highly recommend his performance. The day led us to a lot of exploring throughout the venue and seeing the dinosaur themed artwork in the festival. I met new friends every new place I went. Trading kandi and receiving little rave knick knacks like little hands or glowsticks. My new friend, Alice Greed, led me in side of the best hibachi stand in the festival which was absolutely bomb. As you know as well as I do, when you’re at the festival there MUST be amazing food and Lost Lands did not fall short of that. Saturday night closed out with an amazing Liquid Stranger set that was by fair my favorite of the entire day. Sunday morning started with a mode of recovery as all our of hungover brains banged in our heads, or at least mine for sure. I went to the camp grounds and bought some Pedialyte, which brought me back to life to survive another night at the rave. Sunday was my favorite day of the festival as soon as my headache wore off. This day included two sets from Excision. One was a detox set which was a chill more psychedelic set in comparison to his night set which was back to back with Illenium. Overall, I rate this festival 4.5/5 and is rated my second highest of all my festivals I have attended. In future blog posts I will elaborate on other festivals. This was the last musical festival I attended and thought I would share my thoughts on this festival first. Thanks for reading headbangers.
